Initial Course
The first course in the BGS and BPS programs is designed to help students adapt to college-level work and to Roosevelt University, and to ensure their success in subsequent courses. Depending on the amount of previous college work, students take either the Pro-Seminar in Critical Skills, which focuses on critical reading and thinking, expository writing, and research skills, or Methods of Critical Reasoning, an advanced research course.
University Requirements
University-wide requirements in English and mathematics help students achieve the competence in communication and
in quantitative analysis necessary for success in school and in the world of work.
Procedure for obtaining proficiency credit for CST courses 100 / 101
Students in University College may apply a maximum of 6 semester hours of proficiency credit towards their program of study. Students in the College of Arts and Sciences may not use proficiency exams except to request substitution of another CST course for one that is normally required in your curriculum.
